In the beginning, the First Mover took the first breath, which turned into a butterfly. With the First Mover’s (no pronouns) first thoughts, Prida (Pre-dah) (they/them) and Stele (St-elle) (they/them) appeared on the wings of the butterfly. They walked upon the wings of the butterfly, creating patterns with their movement and ideas, which became mountains, valleys, and rivers. The two constant companions created all manner of beings and objects. One wing of the butterfly became the world of mortals, and the other wing became the fey world, reflecting and contrasting with the mortal world.

Many stories are told about Prida and Stele’s days spent on the wings of the galactic butterfly. The first time Prida laughed, their laughter turned into a rainbow. Stele’s whistle became thunder. Prida and Stele had a mostly harmonious relationship, only peppered with typical little squabbles and debates. However once they became enraged with each other over how much time they were beginning to spend apart, Prida gravitating towards the First Mover and Stele towards the beings and environments they had created together. Prida was jealous of how Stele didn’t seem to want to spend time with them, rejecting their companionship. Stele was jealous of how much time Prida was spending with the First Mover, perceiving a preference of the First Mover for Prida. As the two fought they came to physical blows and weapons, which finally came to a crux when Stele ripped out part of Prida’s prized hair and Prida cut off Stele’s arm in retaliation. In this moment, Prida knelt down and cried, and Stele followed quickly behind, neither actually wanting to hurt the other. Prida’s tears became the oceans. Stele’s arm and drops of blood became the islands of Cyfelion. The pair quickly made up, talked things over, and forgave each other. When Prida and Stele created the first mortal being together, they danced for a hundred days without rest. With more time came more variation.

Prida is worshipped as the god of wisdom and the theoretical, and Stele is worshipped as the god of the body and physicality. The “children” of Prida and Stele, were “born” as Prida and Stele created and discovered across the wings of the galactic butterfly. Their “children” are the gods of more specific aspects of the universe. (Such as Vinaris, god of trees, and Luciferin, god of the sacred glow.) Prida and Stele are the most widely worshipped gods in the world. The more specific gods are worshipped both regionally and world-wide, but less universally and less cohesively. However there are radical factions of all supernatural beings and as well as atheists. Fairies and more fantastical creatures live in the fey realm, which sits parallel to the mortal realm, yet hidden from view and from passive visitors. The fey realm is more magical, and it is believed that magic originates from the fey realm, from where the First Mover first placed Prida and Stele upon the galactic butterfly’s wings and grazed the butterfly. There is not much movement between the mortal realm and the fey realm, though some go back and forth for valuable resources only available on one side or the other, to explore, or for more individual reasons. The fey realm is a reflection of the mortal realm but magic is more profuse and easy to harness, time moves differently, and the distinction between person and plant or being or brook is fuzzy.
